Chapter 1
How everything startedxx/10/199xYuki is born to two irresponsible parents who have no regard to his well-being. He was not registered, he was birthed in their home on a futon; and his egocentric parents called him futon since then; does not bother to find a name. They were much too young to be parents, much too selfish, and much too destructive. His childhood felt like films being played numerous times its speed. Everything is blurry, but he remember how it felt. How he’d have to starve because his birth parents would prioritise alcohol and drugs. How he had to beg his neighbour for a little nibbles of bread, or desperately digging through the takeout plastic and packages thrown near the trashes. How he suffered from his parents exploding emotion, trashed around the place. However as every child come to be, he believed his parents. He trusted that one day, this will too be over, and his parents will grow out of it and they can be a stable family.Stability. That’s all he wants.During his 9th birthday, all of sudden that stability slowly come to his vision. Although it was a wreck of injuries and blood, but suddenly warm food were on the table. His parents mood were brighter, and they treated Yuki nicely. Even on his birthday, he got a strawberry cream cake. A luxury he never imagined will be his, and little Yuki finally saw a glimpse of light at the end of a tunnel. This light however, come crumbling down and disappear as the tunnel crashes down and blocked his way out. Just a day after his birthday, he was taken. He was sold to rugged men that brings him to god knows where, drugged and unconscious— until he wakes up in a tent full of other children and teens, dressed in baggy t-shirt and training pants a size too big.
Chapter 2
The camp and his survivalxx/10/2005 - xx/07/2014Eerie fogs surrounding the secluded forest in a small island far in the sea at the border of Russia and Japan. In such a small plot of land, there, erect a camp— a place without moral and rules, with no laws; a place where it is the survival of the fittest, and where bodies are thrown to the sea should they fail to protect themselves. At the age of 9, Yuki was sold by his birth parents to become a subject of almost a decade of torture. He was kidnapped, clueless to his parents’ depravity. The camp is build by several military higher ups, a pact made between the two country where their objective is to have a group of soldier; brainwashed and live to execute high level mission that is confidential. Where soldiers could be treated like some fodder, and be thrown under the bus should a failure happens. They have washed their hands clean, and for years, the camp flew under the radar of both countries. During the years of training and torture, Yuki did his best to survive. Despite the torture, the harsh training, the taxing mental game— and how he had to live and grow ahead of the older people in the camps. He was still hopeful, still thinking one day his parents will come find him and bring some sort of help that will take him away. He does not know how, he just have a slither of hope. But Yuki never learned, did he? Emotion is such a blinding force, and the truth he come to learn turned his world upside down.In his third year, the 12-year-old learned of his parents’ atrocity. How they sold him for drugs money, how the warm food he had and the cake was just something a little nice to appease their conscience. Yuki surrendered his hope the first year after learning, he was dragged around, treated like punching bags, and come to grow animosity toward his parents; the same people he held in high regards. His rage and anger become his driving force, and when he was 14, he was named 00. The numbers are named after being evaluated for their skills and potentials, and with the number 1 being decided early, Yuki surpassed them and earned the number 00. The team leader of a group of numbers, who kept being deployed to clean up mission. For a moment he lost his humanity, he followed orders like a dog, but kept his conscience whenever he could to keep himself sane. He had to survive. He had to escape, he had to.For revenge.Yuki had led his team brilliantly for years, he lost several numbers but they were insignificant and he could not help it. He himself had brushed with the scent of death so often, it lingers and he could never forget the stench. His hands are dark red, washed off with blood of the people he murdered. When Yuki turned 17, his plan to dismantle the numbers and the camp slowly come to action. He did not have high expectation to completely erase the existence of the camp, but he made sure he brought enough damages and chaos that they will have a lot difficulty and rebuilding what was possible in the past. He managed to steal a boat with other numbers. Surviving the rough seas, and landed on the shore of north Japan. They dispersed, made a pact to be stranger despite their comrade for their own safety; and they are gone to their own paths.“Karma will come for you and them, oh they will. However for you two— I AM your karma. I will push karma and ruin you, and eventually, you will regret every decision you have made that brought you back to this point. You will regret your heydays, and wished you have never reach the summit just to fall from its cliff.” — Yuki, 18With every knowledge and skill he learned painstakingly in the camp, the now 18 years old Yuki survived off the grid with the sole purpose of meeting his birth parents to enact his revenge. He was blessed with the information that they are still alive, still together, and now putting on a facade of someone who is put together. It seems the money they got from selling Yuki pulled them off the slums and now they’re acting like a happy family with two children. Children who does not have to suffer the way he did. He was a sacrifice, a stepping stone. Someone they had at a bad time and gobbled up to secure their future. Their happiness is cut short, Yuki did what he had to do to appease his anger. It wasn’t right, there were collateral damage, and unnecessary sacrifice of the innocents. But Yuki was too blinded by his rage to care, the revenge is a stretched string he desperately clung onto and the sole reason he strive to survive, and why he’s willing to drench his hands with bloods. He destroyed what he used to call home, uprooting the source of his hope, and his first taste of betrayal.
Chapter 3
The fall and his new beginningxx/11/2014After enacting his revenge, Yuki’s final thread is finally broken. He wandered off the grid for a few months. Wondering if he could washed off his sins, washed every innocent life he took, washed everything he had chosen to do for survival. He did not ask to be in this situation, but he knew he could have made a better choice. With the absence of chaos, he is slowly drowning in guilt. He did not wish for redemption, he wished everything will be ripped off his memory. disappeared, but it is impossible. He throws himself to the sea, just how the camp used to throw bodies to the raging waves. He was after all, the byproduct of the camp, and as much as he wanted the past to not happened, history could never be erased. Yuki was rescued by villagers in a remote area who found him washed up on a shore, unable to die. They nursed him, and there he come to meet his current parents who happened to volunteer in the said village. He did not warm up to them, however, they are relentless and after months of building rapport, Yuki decided to follow them to the city where they lived, Sapporo. By the time they had bonded and arrived at the place he soon call home, the first snow falls. And that’s how 00 received the name Yuki. Snow become the symbol of his new beginning, and the date when he arrived home becomes his new birthday. The parents are able to deduce something horrible happened to Yuki, but they are, still, unaware of the existence of a camp. Yuki couldn’t tell them, couldn’t bring himself to expose the stained past and choices he made. At one point he told them he was kidnapped since he was a child, and the years he lived until now is unbecoming to be spoken off. It was far from normal, and full of violence. It took over a year, Yuki’s father pulled every strings he could to create new identity for the boy. Teach the teen, soon to be young adult the norms and everything there is to know about society, and of course, a continuous therapy. As soon as Yuki turned 19, he took lessons and exams to fulfil his education gaps. Luckily, the camp taught him plenty, although there are a lot that he needed to memorise and new updated information that is more suitable to the public. His current family is full of academics, and soon it become his new obsession. Yuki enrolled to T University a little late at the age of 20. His study becomes a new distraction for him as he lived his life as a normal smart young man, repainting his past with lies and scripts prepared by his family.Currently, Yuki is on fast-track phd program while working as a research assistant at the age of 27. Like ink washed up on a paper, Yuki slowly rewrites on top of the blood-stained history. Forcefully painting them white, and living among normalcy and stability he had longed in the past.
